Honors FLIGHT Program
The ULM Honors FLIGHT Program is an experiential curriculum that quantifies students' work outside of the classroom through a guided pathway. Students master seven competencies essential to social, personal, and professional growth:

FLIGHT stands for Forging Leaders, Inspiring Growth, and Harnessing Talent. The program enacts a point system tied to events and activities on campus and within the broader local community. Points earned culminate in digital badges highlighting students' earned competencies that may be placed on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, professional portfolios, and other professional documents.
Students who are active outside the classroom develop important practical and relational skills that are valuable to employers and advanced degree programs. Students who cultivate the skills highlighted in the FLIGHT Program present thorough credentials that graduate schools, exclusive internships, and competitive jobs around the world look for in a candidate.
The FLIGHT Program is powered by Suitable, an app that allows students to track point totals and badge progress, learn about upcoming events, and check in at events using the built-in QR code reader. Suitable also produces a co-curricular transcript which allows students to showcase earned badges and competences to potential employers and postgraduate degree programs.

Competency: Explored knowledge and created scholarship within an academic discipline.
This individual has a profound understanding of core concepts, demonstrates proficiency in communication techniques, and possess valuable skills that span diverse career trajectories.
Competency: Acquired an appreciation for local and global forms of expression, including performative, visual and linguistic; and strived to comprehend the impact of social, economic, and political actions on local and global communities.
This individual is an enlightened, receptive, and accountable member of society who values and respects diversity in all its forms, can identify global disparities, and is capable of developing solutions to significant, long-lasting challenges.
Competency: Developed the ability to appreciate, honor, and learn from a wide array of cultures, races, age groups, genders, sexual orientations, and religions.
This individual exhibits an attitude of open-mindedness, inclusivity, and empathy and is able to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a respectful manner, seeking to understand and embrace their unique perspectives and differences.
Competency: Leveraged the strengths of others to attain collective objectives and employed interpersonal skills to foster the growth of individuals and to build effective teams.
