The Kitty DeGree School of Nursing strongly promotes excellence and professionalism while guiding students through a transformative education.

Baccalaureate nursing graduates at ULM receive a broad based general educational foundation inclusive of history, English, science, and arts. Graduates receive education in all aspects of nursing care and are prepared to work in a variety of health care environments.

The primary mission of the Kitty DeGree School of Nursing is to offer a specialized program of study of the art and science of nursing. Graduates are prepared to succeed and contribute through safe and effective practice as beginning professional nurses and/or masters prepared nurses in a variety of health care settings.

Our nursing faculty are knowledgeable, highly trained and skilled professionals with passion and expertise to teach students to think critically and enhance clinical judgment. The faculty are committed to preparing nursing students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes vital to develop nursing professionals.

Master of Science Nursing degree

ULM offers three tracks in the Master of Science Nursing program. Clinical nurse leader, family nurse practitioner, and adult gerontology nurse practitioner are vital areas for nurses in the healthcare community.

Clinical / Practicum

The nursing program leads students through multiple clinical experiences that build competency, self-confidence, and professionalism. Students receive practicum experience in multiple medical and community facilities, engaging in activities that connect the didactic course to practical application of nursing practice.
