Academic excellence is our priority for all students enrolled in the ULM Army ROTC program. Students learn how academic success is a priceless career builder at every academic level. By using academics effectively and committing to quality training and good decision making our students build the desire to exceed standards in other areas of leadership development and academics in the classroom.
Grambling State University is the “host” for ULM’s Army ROTC program. Freshman and Sophomore ROTC classes (Basic Course) will be held on ULM’s campus while Junior and Senior ROTC (Advanced Course) classes will be held at Grambling. The Army ROTC courses are college electives focusing on leadership and management skills. Offering many scholarships and awards. The ROTC program consists of the Basic Course and the Advanced Course. The Basic Course provides college students the opportunity to learn about and experience the U.S. Army without incurring any military obligation during their freshman and sophomore years. The Advanced Course prepares juniors, seniors, and graduate students for commissioning as officers in the active U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.
