Excellence

its 44th Annual Honors Banquet Friday, May 4, in the ULM Library Conference Center

Students from the University of Louisiana at Monroe's School of Construction Management
won 2nd place in the first ever World Vision Disaster Shelter Design Competition on

University of Louisiana at Monroe construction students scored major wins at the 17th
Annual TEXO/Associated Schools of Construction Student Competitions in Dallas, Texas,
Feb. 20, outscoring teams from Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, and Louisiana

ULM and Monroe Housing Authority Partnership Benefits Elderly
Through community partnerships, University of Louisiana at Monroe students are building
lasting relationships and impacting lives, while also gaining experiences that reach
far beyond classroom instruction. The ULM School of Construction Management and the
Monroe Housing Authority started a partnership in January 2010 to supply construction
management majors with internships that enable them to assess the physical condition

One such recent success story is that of Vanessa Doherty, a construction management
graduate, who began her full-time position with Walt Disney Imagineering in Florida

Lindsey Eickman, a construction management senior and member of the Commercial Construction
Competition team at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, recently won first place
in Commercial Building Best Presenters category at the TEXO competition on Feb. 15

Mobile Enterprises Inc., co-owned by University of Louisiana at Monroe alumnus John
“JP” Pierce, recently received the 2009 Best of Business Award in Waterproofing and

Construction management major Lindsey Eickman was named third runner-up and winner
of The People's Choice Award and Miss Congeniality at the 57th Annual Miss ULM Pageant.
