The University
ULM was founded in 1931 and has grown steadily since that time. With 96 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and 98% of its eligible programs accredited, ULM allows you to expand your opportunities in unlimited directions. Our students are among the best in the nation representing over 42 states and more than 45 foreign countries.
Academic Year
The academic year is composed of a fall and spring semester, two six-week summer sessions, and two intersessions. The fall semester begins in late August and the spring semester begins in mid-January. The first summer session begins in late May and the second in early July. Winter intersession begins mid-December and Spring intersession begins in mid-May. Summer intersession attendance is not required. The following is an approximate schedule, subject to change.

NOTE: Books, supplies, medical care and personal expenses are all estimated amounts.
*Does not include periods during the Thanksgiving or Spring recess and between semesters. An additional charge per day is required for use of the dormitory room during these periods (meals not included).

Out-of-State Fee Waivers
A limited number of out-of-state fee waivers are awarded to international students based upon previous outstanding academic performance. No separate application is required, the student will be notified when the award is made.
