International Student Admissions Information

Please ensure all of your required documents (application, forms, etc.) are submitted by the dates listed above. Your admission credentials will be evaluated after all your application materials are received.

Applicants will be notified by email of the admission decision. A Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) will be sent if admission is granted.

Admission Standards for International First-Time Freshmen

Be admissible to a university in your country

• Completion of a secondary program comparable to US high school graduation with a minimum 2.50 GPA, must include courses in English and Mathematics for scholarship consideration

• Require no more than one developmental course:

• SAT1 Evidence Based Reading and Writing ≥500,  - OR -

• Math ≥510

• SAT1 composite minimum 1060

• A minimum score of 5.5 on IELTS or 61 on Internet-based TOEFL. Also acceptable on TOEFL: 173 on computer-based/500 on paper-based and Duolingo 85.
NOTE: A 7 IELTS, or 100 Internet-based TOEFL or 120 on Duolingo makes the student eligible for English 1001.

1 Scores are for SAT taken after March 2018. Contact the Admissions Office -admissions@ulm.edu- if the SAT was taken prior to March 2018.

Required Documents for International First-Time Freshman.  

• Official transcripts from your high school mark sheets, completion certificates and any required national exam results for secondary school completionUpload to your application.

• Official TOEFL, Duolingo English Proficiency exam or IELTS scores ULM TOEFL code: 6482

• Statement of Financial Backing along with a bank statement  or official bank letter showing funds to cover expenses on I-20. Upload to your application.

• Official SAT or ACT scores should be sent directly from ACT/SAT to ULM. SAT school code is 6482. ACT school code is 1598

• A completed Proof of Immunization form. Upload to your application.

• $30 application fee (application fee may be waived for the Fall 2021 term)

• A valid passport is required for I-20 completion. Upload to your application.


Admission Standards for International Transfer Students

• A transferable Associate Degree (AA or AS)

- OR -

• 18 college-level academic hours with a 2.50 minimum GPA

- AND -

• Must have completed a college-level Mathematics (equivalent to “College Algebra” or higher level) with a grade of C or better and be eligible to enroll in a college-level English course (ESL 1003 or ENGL 1001)

- AND -

• English (equivalent to English Composition at US universities) credit from a U.S. accredited institution

-OR-

•  A minimum score of 5.5 on IELTS or 61 on Internet-based TOEFL. Also acceptable on TOEFL: 173 on computer-based/500 on paper-based.  NOTE: A 7 IELTS or 100 Internet-based TOEFL makes the student eligible for English 1001.

• Official transcripts from any university attended. If attended outside the US, we need an evaluation of the credits by an approved evaluation service (see approved evaluation services below). Transcripts should be sent directly from the institution to the ULM International Office.

• The Statement of Financial Backing along with a bank statement showing funds to cover expenses on I-20. Upload to your application.

• A completed Proof of Immunization form. Upload to your application.

• Official IELTS or TOEFL scores. ULM TOEFL code is 6482 or Duolingo English Proficiency exam

• $30 application fee (may be waived for Fall 2021)

•  A valid passport is required for I-20 completion, uploaded directly in online application portal
