International Student Admissions Information

Please ensure all of your required documents (application, forms, etc.) are submitted by the dates listed above. Your admission credentials will be evaluated after all your application materials are received.

Applicants will be notified by email of an admission decision. If admission is granted, a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) will be sent 7-10 business days from the date of admission.

Admission Standards for International First-Time Freshmen

• Be admissible to a university in your country

• Completion of a secondary program comparable to US high school graduation with a minimum 2.50 GPA, must include courses in English and Mathematics for scholarship consideration

• Require no more than one developmental course:

• SAT1 Evidence Based Reading and Writing ≥500, (ACT 18) - OR -

• Math ≥510 (ACT 19)

*If your SAT Critical Reading or SAT Math meets the requirement, the other subscore can be a minimum of 430 on SAT Math (or 16 on ACT Math) or a minimum of 440 on SAT Critical Reading (or 15 on ACT English). If the student has above a 530 in SAT Math (21 ACT) and the student is eligible for ESLG 1003, the student can be admitted.

Required Supplemental Items for International First-Time Freshman. *Documentation may be uploaded to your application.

1. Official transcripts from your high school mark sheets, completion certificates and any required national exam results for secondary school completion.

2. Official TOEFL, Duolingo English Proficiency exam or IELTS scores

3. Statement of Financial Backing along with a bank statement  or official bank letter showing funds to cover expenses on I-20.

4. Official SAT or ACT scores should be sent directly from ACT/SAT to ULM.

5. A completed Proof of Immunization form.

6. $30 application fee (application fee currently waived.)

7. A valid passport is required for I-20 completion.


Admission Standards for International Transfer Students

• A transferable Associate Degree (AA or AS or AGS)

- OR -

• A minimum 18 college-level academic hours with a 2.50 minimum GPA

- AND -

• Must have completed a college-level Mathematics (equivalent to “College Algebra” or higher level) with a grade of C or better and be eligible to enroll in a college-level English course (ESL 1003 or ENGL 1001)

- AND -

• English (equivalent to English Composition at US universities) credit from a U.S. accredited institution

-OR-

1. Official transcripts from any university attended. If attended outside the US, we need an evaluation of the credits by an approved evaluation service (see approved evaluation services below). Transcripts should be sent directly from the institution to the ULM International Office.
