The Undergraduate Council (UC) of the University of Louisiana Monroe is a university-wide committee composed
of administrators, faculty, staff, and additional campus leaders that makes recommendations
to the VP/Provost on academic policies and practices that impact undergraduate education.
These include creation, revision, and deletion of academic programs pertinent to curricula,
majors, minors, degrees, and concentrations. The council also participates in periodic
reviews of existing undergraduate programs.
The UC works closely with colleges, departments, and faculty to ensure academic practices align with the ULM Strategic Plan and to foster high-impact practices that ensure successful student outcomes.
The UG Council shall be responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and enhancing the quality of the University’s academic programs. 1. Review and recommend actions on proposals for new and/or changes to curricula, concentrations, certificates, minors, and degrees.
2. Support a timely and efficient system for curricula submissions and decisions.
3. Participate in the program review process to assure quality and rigor of instruction and evaluations are consistent across the curriculum.
4. Create annual reports examining undergraduate endeavors to be used in ULM’s strategic plan.
5. Provide advice and resources for both faculty and administration that supports quality undergraduate curricula development.
