All employees
must attend the quarterly safety meeting. This includes all staff and
faculty and also part-time personnel. Also included are personnel stationed
off campus, unless they are stationed at another state agency that holds
quarterly safety meetings. Any employee who misses the meeting can arrange
for make-up training with their department safety coordinator. If an
employee is not in attendance and does not complete make-up training then
the department safety coordinator
must provide a documented reason as to why the employee could not complete
the training.
Department safety coordinators
will arrange safety meetings for each department on campus. In the absence
of the department safety coordinator, the department head will be
responsible for ensuring that the safety meeting is held.
During the
safety meeting, attendance will be documented using the approved ULM
sign-in form. A copy of the form is available on
the website.
During the
safety meeting the safety meeting report form
should also be completed. Record comments, suggestions, etc. from employees
on this form.
Once all of
the employees from the department have signed the sign-in form then the
department safety coordinator should submit a copy of the sign-in form and
the safety meeting report form to the ULM Environmental Health & Safety
office.
All materials
should be submitted to the Environmental Health & Safety office prior to the
due date for that quarter.
Unless
otherwise specified the due date for completing quarterly safety meetings
will be the fifteenth day of the second month of the quarter:
