| English Studies Society Presents Literary Offerings by ULM Talent |
|||
|
The English Studies Society at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will offer two opportunities for literary enjoyment this month. The first is a poetry reading featuring ULM football player Erroll Hogan, a senior in general studies. He will read his poetry April 25 at 6 p.m. in the Aviation Auditorium. The second event is a presentation by Dr. Janet Haedicke, a ULM professor of English, entitled "Movies, Melting Pots, and Menageries: Tennessee Williams on America." This event will occur Wednesday, April 26 at 1 p.m. in the Administration Building, Room 3-88. Jo Galle, Ph.D., and J. Eric McNeil created the English Studies Society in 1997 as a way to bring ULM English students together to share thoughts about literature and engage in literary events. The club organizes fiction/poetry readings, attends literary festivals, and sponsors and edits chapbooks. Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact: 318-342-1500. |
