More than 500 students participated in the Region III Social Studies Fair held March 29 in Fant-Ewing Coliseum at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Individual projects placing first or second at the regional level in each of six social studies disciplines in all three divisions qualify for the state Social Studies Fair to be held in Baton Rouge. Group projects placing first in all disciplines also advance to the state fair.

Region III comprises Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll Parishes.
