ULM teams competed in the areas of Heavy/Highway, Commercial Building and Design Build. ULM’s Heavy/Highway Team finished third. The School also received a $5,000 competitive grant. ULM student Vanessa Doherty, a senior of Monroe, was recognized as the third-best presenter among all teams in the Commercial Building competition.

ULM students Lindsey Eickman, a senior of Garland, Texas, and Andrew Barber, a sophomore from Baton Rouge, received scholarships from TEXO, an industry alliance between the Associated General Contractors of America and the Associated Builders and Contractors.

ULM School of Construction faculty member and Coach Hollis Bray recalled, “Competition was stiff. We have been competing here for 14 years. In that time we have had a couple of second-place finishes and several of our students have received individual honors. This year was one of our best-ever showings. It really makes me proud of our program.”

Twenty-one teams represented 12 regional universities, including: the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, LSU, Louisiana Tech, Texas Tech, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and John Brown University.
