Estis presents research at national ASPA Conference

Catherine Estis, Ph.D., director of Educational Talent Search at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, recently presented at the 50th Annual Conference of American Society for Public Administrators in Miami March 20-24.

Estis’ paper and research were titled “Transportation Access and Unemployment: An Application of the Spatial Mismatch Theory in Selected Deep South Urbanized Areas.” Mellen Press has agreed to publish her study in book form this summer.

She earned a doctorate in public policy and administration with specialization in public policy analysis. She will present further research at the 21st IPSA World Congress of Political Science hosted in Santiago, Chile, in July.

The 2009 conference hosted over 1,100 federal, state and local government officials and employees, scholars, practitioners, new professionals and students who came together for training, networking, exchanging ideas, and learning about best practices in the field.
