Atmospheric scientist chosen for summer workshop in Colorado

Assistant Professor Anne Case Hanks, Ph.D., of the Department of Geosciences at the University of Louisiana at Monroe was chosen to participate in the 2009 Unidata Users Workshop.

The workshop, “Using Operational and Experimental Observations in Geosciences Education” will be held June 8-12 in Boulder, Colo. Participants will learn about the latest advances in observing technologies and techniques and their use in education, research and operations.

Scientists, engineers and faculty will present an array of educational and instructional sessions at the Boulder workshop, which will showcase various observing systems with special emphasis on their usefulness in teaching and student learning. Focus areas of presentations and workshops will include remote sensing instrumentation, data assimilation, climate and air quality, and emerging technologies.
