ULM's Spyker Eminent Chair published by Simon and Schuster
Keeney
Simon and Schuster Inc. of New York recently published the work of Dr. Bradford Keeney, professor of Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
"The Flying Drum" is a presentation of Keeney's unique clinical work. Dr. Brian Canfield, former President of the American Counseling Association, called the book a "unique alternative perspective that promises to change therapeutic practice."
His publication challenges mental health professionals to become more creative and daring in their encounters of everyday life.
Speakers Hall of Fame Member Dr. Carl Hammerschlag reviewed the book as "redefining therapeutic culture . . . a passionate, fearless confrontation with human suffering and established rigidity that inspires us to create new endings to old stories."
Keeney serves as Hanna Spyker Eminent Chair in Education in the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling.
