Alum devoted to the university that
"started his life"

Hong Kong, London, Dallas, and Boston are just a few of the locales in which ULM College of Business students work, thanks to the college's Internship Support Fund, an initiative that recently received a financial boost from a devoted graduate.

Freeman Stamper, a Columbia native who graduated from ULM in 1968 with a B.S. in office management, donated $10,000 to the College of Business Internship Support fund on Friday, April 20, during a special press announcement.

"I'm happy to do anything for the university that started my life. This donation marries my passion for students and the opportunities they may not have had, that I didn't have," Stamper said. "No other place can I get a greater return."

Stamper, who now works as an executive consultant in the San Francisco area, is challenging all ULM alumni to donate to the Internship Support Fund, which offsets transportation and living expenses for students. 

Of his generosity, ULM College of Business Dean Ron Berry said, “We are very grateful to Mr. Stamper for providing this outstanding gift and challenge. We look forward to meeting his challenge and supporting more students as they seek internships in high cost areas around the world."
