Hannah Elizabeth Hammons, a ULM government major, and Pamela Jo Bryant, a mass communications major, have each been awarded the Billy G. Haynes Memorial Scholarship by the Ouachita Parish Republican Women's Club.

The scholarships are awarded to female ULM students (who must be juniors or seniors) majoring in mass communications, government or criminal justice. The recipients must possess a 3.0 or higher grade point average and be deemed persons of high integrity and moral character.

Hammons and Bryant, both juniors, will receive their scholarships Aug. 16 at the First Presbyterian Church at 1201 Stubbs Ave.
