Dr. Jeff Anderson, a ULM assistant professor of history, is determined to educate Louisiana’s citizens in a variety of historical and cultural topics this fall semester.

He began Tuesday, Aug. 19, with a presentation titled “Camelot: History and Legend” at the Main Branch of the Ouachita Parish Public Library.

Coming up, he and Georgiann Potts will present a Readings in Literature and Culture program titled “The Creole Identity and Experience in Louisiana Literature and History” at the Morehouse Parish Library Sept. 16, 23, and 30 and Oct. 14, 21, and 28. Each RELIC program will meet from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

He is further scheduled to appear Sunday, Oct. 12, in a discussion panel he organized titled “Beyond the Voodoo Doll” at the Southern Historical Association Annual Conference in New Orleans. His discussion will address recent scholarship on Voodoo, hoodoo, and conjure.
