A Convocation ceremony for 21 graduating nursing students at the University of Louisiana at Monroe School of Nursing was held on Friday, December 15, 2006. Dr. Walter Creekmore, a professor in the Department of Education and Human Development, was the speaker for the event. Students who had been inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing were presented honor cords to be worn with their graduation regalia to signify their honor status. They are Chelsey Baker, Marion; Lisa Cheek, West Monroe; Amanda Jackson, Monroe; Christina Richey, West Monroe; Nicholas Spillers, Downsville; Tracy Duncan, Monroe; Terri Ewing, Chatham; Kristen Sluyter, Monroe; and Jeff White, Monroe. Other classmates included Lenora Evans, Monroe; Tai Hardaman, Shreveport; Lauren Holston, Alexandria; Sharon Lewis, Winnsboro; Lakisher Morgan, Bastrop; Anne Young, Oak Ridge; Jennifer Broadwell, Baton Rouge; Angela Harper, Ferriday; Janey Humphries, Monroe; Monica Jones, Monroe; Ashley McGowen, Bastrop; and Amanda Poche, Choudrant. Christina Richey, West Monroe, earned the Sigma Theta Tau award for the highest overall GPA in the graduating class. Amanda Jackson, Monroe, earned the faculty award as the outstanding student. |
