Zimmerman to appear in “Scrooge: A Christmas Carol” Dec. 5-6

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Kyle Zimmerman will spread some Christmas joy this season…ironically by portraying the miserly title character in the Twin City Ballet Company’s current production of “Scrooge: A Christmas Carol” at the Monroe Civic Center. Remaining performances will occur Friday, Dec. 5, at 12:45 p.m. and during the Christmas Gala Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m.

Zimmerman, the university’s assistant professor of acting and directing, has a crucial role in “this delightful story…an adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ classic,” as described by the Twin City Ballet Company’s Web site.

The production will reportedly entertain all ages with new staging by New York City-based choreographer Joe Istre, as well as lush sets and costuming. The Gala will also showcase the Twin City Ballet Company dancers and area top vocalists and musicians, all in holiday-inspired pieces.

Friday’s performance costs $4 at the door. Gala ticket prices are $25. For tickets, contact: 318-329-2338.
