In October, the Chemistry Department finalized acquisition of a JEOL 300 MHz nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. This vital instrument, partially funded through a grant award from the Board of Regents, and costing a total of $227,808, will serve the teaching and research ventures of the College of Pure and Applied Sciences.
It possesses pulse field gradients for faster data acquisition times and multinuclear capabilities expanding the experimental repertoire, giving faculty and students access to contemporary molecular analysis tools.
