ULM Enrollment Up for Spring 2006 Semester

The University of Louisiana at Monroe reports an increase in enrollment for the spring 2006 semester. This marks the third consecutive year that ULM has had a boost in students for the spring semester and is part of a trend of increased enrollment for the university over the last three years.

Enrollment figures for the spring 2006 semester show 8,286 students enrolled in classes. That figure represents a 0.4% increase in enrollment from the spring 2005 count of 8,249 students.

University officials point to the university’s progress under President Cofer as the reason for the upswing in enrollment.

Lisa Miller, Director of Recruitment and Admissions at ULM said, "The increase in spring enrollment is directly attributable to the leadership of President Cofer and the efforts of the faculty and staff. We are recruiting good students and retaining them; we look forward to continuing this trend.”

"Our enrollment increase is a marked contrast with some other universities in Louisiana and reflective of both the quality of the student experience at ULM and our efforts to help students who were deeply affected by the hurricanes." said ULM Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Stephen Richters.
