Dr. Anthony D. Feig, assistant professor in the ULM Department of Geosciences, will attend the Second Workshop on Infrastructure for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Education Research Feb. 21 – 22 at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

The workshop is part of a national collaboration among scientists to advance the application of scientific research methods to STEM education by establishing an INstitute for QUantitative Education Research Infrastructure in teaching mathematical, biological, engineering, and physical sciences at the college level.

Feig is glad to be a part of such a worthy venture. “I'm pleased to be able to represent the school and the region at this workshop.”

The three overarching goals are:

• to build a STEM education research infrastructure by taking the lead in the development, deployment, user training, and archiving of high quality research methods and instruments
  
  
• to disseminate the methods and results of quality STEM education research
  
  
• to be a catalyst to establishing STEM education quantitative research collaborations and studies across institutions and across disciplines.
