ULM SBDC to offer business workshops in early March
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Small Business Development Center will provide a Managing Customer Relations For Higher Sales And Profits Workshop Tuesday, March 4 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the ULM Administration Building, room 2-105. There is a $10 cost per person.
The major key for small business success is the retention of current customers. Experts estimate it costs six times more to acquire a new customer than it does to retain a current customer. For firms who have developed customer retention programs, profits have increased as much as 50 percent. An important driver of customer retention is customer satisfaction. This two-hour seminar will provide important information on customer retention, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth through retaining current customers. Preregistration is required. The ULM SBDC will offer a free Small Business Sales and Use Tax Workshop Thursday, March 6 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the ULM Administration Building, Room 2-105.
The sales tax workshop will cover the key definitions of the sales tax law (including sales tax and use tax); an overview of the exemptions and exclusions, including which pertain to state or to local; how to complete a sales tax return; and brief description of the UTC that became effective on July 1, 2003.
The speaker will be Ron Carter, administrator of the Morehouse Sales Tax Commission.
