Dr. Lynn Clark, assistant professor of Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, recently published an article, "What Leadership Looks Like: Videos Help Aspiring Leaders get the Picture," in the national Journal of Staff Development.

The Journal of Staff Development is a national journal with a wide readership that includes teachers, administrators and professional development personnel.

The article examines the ways nationally-known professional development experts use videos of practice to refine leadership in urban schools.

Clark was invited to submit the article as part of her work with school leader programs in New York, N.Y. Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, Calif.

Clark, who is the director of DREAM in the College of Education and Human Development, has also been invited to be a review panelist for the National Science Foundation K-12 innovation grants.

"This will be my second year serving on an NSF panel," Clark said.

"Last year I reviewed Math/Science Partnership (MSP) grants and with that information we were able to submit an MSP proposal with faculty from the School of Science. This year, we will use what I learn to focus on K-12 innovation grants."

The National Science Foundation panel meets in Washington, D.C. later this month.

Clark also noted that DREAM is always looking for new partners across the university campus and the community who are interested in grant-writing opportunities.
