The team has consistently returned with high placements in the Small Co-Ed Division I category for the past three years. The team has two national championships under its belt from the 2004 and 2005 competitions. 

"I am so proud of this squad,” said ULM Cheerleaders Coach Jennifer Sword. “We only had six returning members on our competition team, and the remaining were freshmen. They worked very hard and came together as a very strong team. They represented ULM very well, and will be a top contender in the coming years."

The ULM Cheerleaders are comprised of one squad, including male and female members. The competition team brings 16 members and 4 alternates. The cheerleaders are in charge of cheering at all football games and home basketball games. The ULM Cheerleaders are also required to compete at one of the major national cheerleading competitions during each season.

Alternates for the team and their hometowns are:

Kandice Hunter, Monroe; Kristin Locantro, Monroe; Ashley Walker, West Monroe; and Meredith Moncrief, Monroe.

The coaches for the ULM Cheerleaders are Jennifer Sword, West Monroe, and Nick Gaspard, Monroe.
