ULM and Alcorn State will be moving the date of their 2006 opening season date from Saturday, Sept. 2 to Thursday, Aug. 31, announced today by ULM director of athletics Bobby Staub. Game time will be 7 p.m. at Malone Stadium.

"We had great success opening at home on Thursday night in 2005," said Staub.  "It is a great way for our fans to kickoff their Labor Day weekend."

Last season, ULM opened the 2005 campaign with a home-opening record crowd of 21,726.
