The University of Louisiana at Monroe entered into yet another Articulation Agreement (2+2) — this time with South Arkansas Community College.

This new partnership allows students to complete their associate's degrees at SouthArk in two years and transfer into one of five online programs at ULM, ultimately preparing them to earn their bachelor's degrees in four years.

The five online programs available at ULM for SouthArk transfer students include: B.B.A. in General Business, B.A. in Criminal Justice, B.G.S. in General Studies Business Concentration, B.G.S. in General Studies Social Sciences Concentration, and B.A. in Healthcare Management/Marketing.

In an earlier statement, ULM President James Cofer said, "We are constantly evolving. With the state’s declining high school enrollment and tighter admission standards, it is essential we reach out to a different population of students. By offering an online venue, we are educating today’s “anytime, anywhere” student and making education more accessible."

This is not the first 2+2 program established by ULM. ULM and Delta Community College implemented an articulation agreement in 2008, an agreement with Dallas Community College District in 2009, an agreement with Bossier Parish Community College in February, and an agreement with Hinds Community College in March.

ULM will continue to explore 2+2 initiatives with two-year colleges.
