- Toya Daughtrey of Shreveport
- Julianne Grant of Crossett, Ark.
- Whitney Hawkins of Houma

This team of eight competed against other Speech-Language Pathology students from LSU-NO, ULL, and Southeastern.
According to Dr. Johanna Boult, department head of Speech-Language Pathology, the Quiz Bowl topics “related to the scientific and clinical study of communication sciences and disorders. Specific topics were anatomy (of the speech and hearing mechanisms), voice disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, neurological disorders, language acquisition theories and theorists, and research design and statistics.”
ULM correctly answered the final question: 'What was the first and original name of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association?' with 'The American Academy of Speech Correction' to win the Quiz Bowl.
In addition, Boult received an award from LSHA this year for exceptional contribution to the LSHA newsletter for the 2012 edition for which she served as editor.
Contributing authors included Dr. Linda Bryan, Mrs. Jennifer Whited, Ms. Sarah Hayes, Mrs. Ramona Bonnette, and Mrs. Mary Ann Thomas, all ULM Speech-Language Pathology faculty.
