On Tuesday, March 27, Rep. Mike Walsworth will be furiously taking notes during class, while a ULM student is managing a state representative’s duties during ULM's "Big Switch." Of the swap Walsworth said, "Sometimes the public and the media concentrates more on politics than public service. My hope for 'trading places for a day' is that it might give insight to the public service side of being a state representative." The swap is part of ULM's 17th Annual Big Switch, a free event that allows students to swap schedules with a campus or community leader from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. The 31 Ambassadors, ULM's alumni student-service organization, sponsors the event. "This event provides a unique opportunity for students and our campus and community leaders to gain insight into each other's daily routine," said Molly Pealer, assistant director of alumni programs at ULM. The following leaders will participate:
Members of the 31 Ambassadors will distribute free tickets to ULM
Names will be drawn Thursday, March 22. A luncheon for participants will be held Tuesday, March 27 at 12:15 p.m. in the ULM Alumni Center. Contact Molly Pealer at 342-3601 or pealer@ulm.edu for more details.
