RADT faculty and students attend LSRT
Faculty and students of the ULM Department of Radiologic Technology recently attended the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists Mid-Winter Seminar in Lake Charles.
Amy Bush, a senior student in the RADT program from Anacoco, placed first in the Student Bee among senior level students from around the state. LSRT Student Council Chair Chris Black of Monroe and Vice-Chair Rajan Ghimire of Monroe, both senior students, conducted the Student Advisory Council meeting. Susan Bonner, a junior student from Winnsboro, was elected LSRT Student Council Chair for 2008-2009. In all, 56 students in the RADT program attended the seminar. Other student activities included educational lectures and content specific lectures for the ARRT National Registry.
Brett Bennett, head of the ULM Radiologic Technology Department, presented “Equipment Maintenance and Operation,” and Andy Allen, the department’s clinical coordinator, presented “Review of Patient Care” at the LSRT Student Registry Review program. Bennett and Allen served as chair and vice chair, respectively, to the LSRT Educators Council, the Louisiana Educators in Radiologic Sciences. Both faculty members also served as judges for the Student Bee competition.
