Troxclair praised the NAGC’s work. “This was an opportunity to provide service to a professional organization. NAGC is our nation’s ‘heart and soul’ of gifted education. At the NAGC University Network Meeting, topics of discussion included development of advanced teacher accreditation standards in the field of gifted education, the Higher Education Opportunity Act and its “opportunity” for impacting the education of gifted children in the regular classroom, and the NCATE/NACG Reviewer training program. For more information on the NAGC, go to http://www.nagc.org. Troxclair also presented this semester at the Louisiana Council for Exceptional Children’s SuperConference 28 in Lafayette in January. The conference session was titled, “The Impact of Overprotection of Gifted Children.” For more information on the Louisiana Council for Exceptional Children, go to www.lacec.org. |
