Ace, the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s own cotton-tailed Warhawk mascot, took a break from flying and chose instead to take “bunny hops” with about 40 pre-Kindergarten children from Lexington Elementary School in Monroe on March 31.
Ace enjoyed an early Easter celebration with the children, who spent a fun-filled and educational field day at the university campus.
“This has been, once again, the most incredible day,” said Lexington teacher, Linda Maddox. “We were all treated like kings and queens. From the bottom of our hearts we’d like to express our appreciation to everyone at ULM for all their efforts in making our day so special and successful. ULM is the jewel on the bayou, there is no question about it.”
