ULM pharmacy student wins second science award

Gauri Patwardhad of Mumbai, India, and a pharmacy student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, recently won the Best Student Poster award at the Louisiana Academy of Sciences’ annual meeting held on Feb. 27 at Louisiana State University at Alexandria.

Patwardhad won the same award at last year’s meeting for a different research project.

“This demonstrates the competitiveness of our research program and graduate students with other programs in the state,” Dr. Greg Leader, interim dean of the college of pharmacy, said. “To win it two years in a row with different research projects is outstanding.”
