ULM professor elected vice-president of the Louisiana Political Science Association
ULM political science associate professor John Sutherlin was elected Vice-President of the Louisiana Political Science Association at their annual conference on March 2.
“It is always an honor to serve your peers,” Sutherlin said, “The LPSA has always been a wonderful organization and a forum for presenting papers and getting feedback. I am always glad to help.”
The vice-president is responsible for organizing the state conference, which will be held at ULM next year.
This is the second time that Sutherlin has been elected to that post. He has previously served as president (2008-2009) and treasurer (1997-2003).
The LPSA was founded in 1972.
Sutherlin earned a B.A. from Louisiana Tech University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of New Orleans. He has taught at ULM for over six years.
