ULM’s Insurance Department held its academic awards banquet on May 3 and awarded $15,810 in insurance scholarships to 18 high-achieving students.

A total of 25 scholarships were given out, including those awarded for participation in the Insurance Society, for high GPAs (usually above a 3.5) and for three “best in class” designations. Scholarships ranged from $250 to $1,500.

One student, Maria Echenique, received five scholarships totaling $4,490, including two for “best in class.” She also won the $10,000 Spencer Award.
