The ULM Foundation, a private non-profit organization dedicated to the growth, development and enhancement of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, has launched a searchable scholarship Web site. Information on more than 400 scholarships administered by the ULM Foundation is available at www.ulm.edu/scholarships.
The ULM Foundation developed the Web site as a way to make students, parents and faculty better aware of the many scholarship opportunities offered by the ULM Foundation, according to Cindy Leath, development associate and coordinator of the ULM Foundation scholarships.
“The Foundation scholarship Web site is another way to put ‘students first’. Many students and their parents, plus faculty, often did not know about the many scholarships available through the ULM Foundation. Now the scholarships are organized and can be searched by several criterion: by major, by college, by student classification or by GPA.”

Don A. Skelton, Sr., vice-president for University Advancement, said the Web site could not have come at a better time.
“The application period for the 2008 academic year is upon us. We want to ensure all ULM students and our faculty know about the scholarship opportunities available from the Foundation. We have also worked with the deans of each college and the ULM scholarship office to increase awareness of the availability of Foundation scholarships and to ensure the application and approval process goes smoothly. In the end, it is a ‘win-win’ for the students, with more financial options available for their education.”
The ULM Foundation scholarships are in addition to any institutional scholarships available to ULM students.
Students can apply for 2008 ULM Foundation scholarships between Dec. 1, 2007 and Feb. 15, 2008.
