Biology department fall seminar to occur Nov. 14

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Department of Biology has scheduled several educational seminars during the fall 2008 semester, with the next one occurring Friday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. in the ULM Museum of Natural History, located in Sandel Hall on the third floor.

On Nov. 14, Dr. Chris Taylor of Texas Tech University gives a speech centered on “Fishes and flows: Long-term impacts of altered flow regimes.”

Shannon Martin, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, will conduct the final fall 2008 biology seminar Friday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. in the Chemistry and Natural Science Building, room 101. His presentation is titled “The influence of salinity on reproduction in coastal freshwater fishes.”
