The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Division of Music and Division Of Theatre and Dance will provide an informational meeting about a new interdisciplinary study abroad program to be held in Paris next year.

The informational session is scheduled from 4 to 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, in Student Union Ballroom B. The session will cover details about the program, which will be focused on the "La Belle Époque" era, or “Beautiful Period.”

This new interdisciplinary study abroad program will run from May 17-June 4, 2010.

“This program is an interdisciplinary study of dance, music, art, architecture and even cuisine during this interesting time period in history,” said Humes.

The period lasted until about 1915, just as Europe was engaged in World War I, and right before America’s entry into the war. Humes is presenting this course with Robin Stephens, assistant professor of dance.
