The film Stay Brady Stay, a documentary produced by ULM's Social Science Research Lab dealing with Louisiana's so-called "brain drain," was one of those selected for this year's Acadiana Film Festival held in Lafayette, Nov. 11-14.

"We remain amazed at how audiences and critics have taken to Stay Brady Stay," said film director and writer Dr. John W. Sutherlin. "There are always more requests for showing the film than we can accommodate. Film festivals represent an opportunity for getting critical comments and further distribution along with making more contacts in the industry."

The film was produced in part with a University of Louisiana Systems Service Learning Grant.

Audiences across the country and state have viewed the film, which was also aired on Louisiana Public Broadcasting last January. This past summer, the film was featured at the San Antonio Film Festival on opening night. Sutherlin added, "Stay Brady Stay continues to be relevant until we fix the core issues that are causing young people to leave the state."
