Three Hanoi Medical University faculty members and a Centers for Disease Control in Vietnam representative were greeted in their native language by ULM College of Health Sciences Dean Denny Ryman on Thursday morning, Nov. 4.
"Hello friends and welcome to the university," said Ryman, speaking in dialect, as faculty members Vu Trung Nyugen, Thanh Van Ta and Dang Thi Dzung, and CDC-Vietnam representative Hien Bui, smiled in return. "Thank you for coming."
Ryman was joined by Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Eric Pani, who also thanked the Vietnamese delegates for coming to ULM to learn about ULM's outstanding and accredited Medical Laboratory Science program. Louisiana was the only state to host the Vietnamese visitors and ULM was one of their last stops toward the end of a week-long tour that included visits to hospitals, as well as other university programs. "Our MLS department is becoming known nationally for their exceptional program and I was pleased to be part of the sincere welcome of the Hanoi delegation to our campus," said Ryman. More information about ULM's Medical Laboratory Science program can be found at www.ulm.edu/mls. |
