The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Department of English will present Peter Murray Jones of the University of Cambridge in England, on Monday, Oct. 9.

Jones' presentation will be entitled "Devotion, Power and Protection: Amulets in Late Medieval Medicine."

Jones will present information about recent research in the use of objects -- jewelry, rings, pilgrim badges -- for healing and protective purposes.

The presentation will be at 6 p.m. at the ULM Conference Center on the seventh floor of University Library.
