ULM’s RADT department to celebrate National Radiologic Technology Week Nov. 2-8

The University of Louisiana Monroe Department of Radiologic Technology has several events scheduled Nov. 2-8 in honor of National Radiologic Technology Week.

In conjunction with Chi Beta Gamma, ULM’s Rad Tech professional student organization, the department will celebrate professional achievements in the following ways:

  • Chi Beta Gamma will continue to give back to the community through the CBG Philanthropy Collection. They are gathering toiletry bags for an area shelter; the bags will be distributed to those in need in the community. The event began Friday, Oct. 3, and ends Friday, Nov. 7. For information on how to contribute, contact 318-342-1629.

  • The department instructors will hold an annual meeting with area technologists that serve as clinical instructors for the ULM Rad Tech students Thursday, Nov. 6, at 12:30 p.m.

  • On Friday, Nov. 7, at 12:30 p.m., the department will finish the week with a NRTW Celebration pizza party and presentation on the CARE bill. This vital legislation will provide national standards for all imaging professionals, necessary to protect patients from unqualified individuals performing exams using ionizing radiation.

The department invites everyone to support NRTW by thanking a Registered Technologist that you may come in contact with during the week. It also advises patients to ask those individuals performing imaging studies if they are registered.

Technologists across the country will celebrate the annual event in different ways.
