ULM Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic celebrates 25 years of outreach

The ULM Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic is celebrating its 25th year of serving the ULM family and the greater community.

The clinic will officially celebrate its 25th Anniversary Saturday, Nov. 8, from 6-9 p.m. at the ULM Alumni Center. The event is a celebration of the past and a vision of the future. Guests will meet former faculty and students. Dr. Don Locke, former program director, is the special guest. Also included are a media presentation, live music, and an awards-recognition ceremony.

The attire is semi-formal, and there will be a Southern buffet meal. Tickets for current students are $10. Attendees are asked to reserve tickets by contacting Sharon Doaty at: (318) 342-3005.

About ULM's Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic:
Clients at the ULM Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic receive assistance coping with stress and anxiety, feelings of loneliness, fatigue, depression, and persistent feelings of dissatisfaction as well as with relationship problems, sexual concerns, school adjustment, frequent financial difficulties, addictions, anger management, and violence.

All information is completely confidential, as mandated by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Ph.D. and masters students are under the supervision of AAMFT-approved supervisors.

The service is free to all ULM and Delta Community College students. Fees are negotiable and affordable for the general public. Sessions are usually once per week, and usually last for 50 minutes.

The clinic is open for appointments Mondays through Thursdays from 12-8 p.m. and is located just off the main ULM campus at 3404 Bon Aire Drive. Please call 342-3003 for an appointment.
