The University of Louisiana at Monroe held its Inaugural Sand Volleyball tournament Aug. 27, celebrating two new “sandsational” volleyball courts as part of Week of Welcome festivities.
Eleven six-person teams went head-to-head (and toe-to-toe) in three feet of sand, with Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity emerging victorious. The fraternity had generously donated use of their volleyball court to the ULM team until the new sand courts could be created behind Heard Tennis Stadium on Stadium Drive, near Masur Hall. Vasquez wants to start hosting more weekend tournaments, and said the women’s team may be followed on Facebook. Photo by ULM's Office of University Relations |
