In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success
and academic excellence of each and every student who walks through our doors.
We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation
of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance
of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions
to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where
vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.
Our outstanding faculty and staff offer a supportive learning environment dedicated
to preparing highly qualified professionals to meet the workforce demands of the community,
the region and beyond.
ULM Professor of History and Associate Director of the School of Humanities Dr. Jeffrey E. Anderson had his new book published by LSU Press in March. Voodoo: An African American Religion is a modern account of the voodoo faith as it existed in the Mississippi River valley from colonial times to the mid-twentieth century, when, he argues, it ceased to thrive as a living tradition.
ULM Associate Professor of Atmospheric Science Dr. Todd Murphy and students in the ULM Atmospheric Science program traveled to Cabot, Ark., on Monday, April 8, to locate in the path of totality for an atmospheric boundary layer experiment during the total solar eclipse. ULM was one of multiple atmospheric science groups in the field on Monday within the path collecting measurements on how the abrupt decrease in solar radiation would impact the lower part of the atmosphere called the boundary layer.

The University of Louisiana Monroe Educational Technology Leadership program is pleased to announce its partnership with Unity as part of the Unity Academic Alliance. The partnership represents a more than $30,000 value to ULM and will give 40 ULM students access to comprehensive Unity curriculum, carefully designed to bridge academic learning and industry demands. Unity is a leading platform for the creation of real-time 3D content and experiences, including game design and augmented reality applications.
