Career Ambassadors
Purpose
Career Ambassadors is as a volunteer service and leadership organization that provides
students the opportunity to serve as representatives of Career Connections. In addition
to assisting Career Connections with strengthening outreach, Career Ambassadors create
events for students by students! They strive to help their fellow Warhawks grow in
leadership and confidence so they are able to achieve the career they want!
Members are provided key information regarding essential skills employers look for
in new hires as well as participate in team building and leadership exercises.
The membership of the Career Ambassadors shall consist of current registered students
of the university and will limit itself to 30 members. This membership number includes
officers. New members may be welcomed each semester depending on vacancy numbers.
Requirements
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Attend mandatory chapter meetings
- $30.00 membership fee to cover member polo
- Participate in Career Ambassadors Events
- Participate in Career Connections Events
Commitments
- Commitment of a minimum of 30 hours per semester
- Market and promote Career Connections and Career Ambassadors events and services
- Provide event assistance during Career Connections and Career Ambassadors events/programs
- Participate in outreach activities (drawing in more students, creating a buzz around
campus)
- Attend all Career Ambassadors Events
- Attend all mandatory Career Connections Events + 2 additional events of your choosing
- Attendance at all chapter meetings is mandatory
How to become a Career Ambassador?
- Please submit completed application form and resume to the Office of Career Connections
(Sandel Hall 139) no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 31st.
- The Career Ambassador Advisor(s) and/or officer board member(s) shall hold interviews
each semester to select membership and determine qualifications, skills, fit, and
eagerness of those who have submitted an application on time.
- Interviews will take place Monday, February 4th and Tuesday, January 5th.
- Each member, excluding officers, must reapply for membership at the end of the spring
semester if renewed membership is desired.
