Louisiana Aspiring Educators Summer Academy

ULM and the Louisiana Department of Education hosted the Louisiana Aspiring Educators Summer Academy on our campus in July 2023. This weeklong summer program brought together 100 aspiring educators from high school and university teacher preparation programs across Louisiana along with teacher leaders who helped facilitate a summer camp experience and hand-on field experiences including a tour of Monroe with Mayor Friday Ellis, teaching experiences in City of Monroe community centers, and learning sessions with LDOE State Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley.
