MONROE, LA The University of Louisiana Monroe School of Visual and Performing Arts is proud to present visual artist Rosemary Jesionowski on display at Bry Hall Gallery, 4101 desiard St., on ULM’s campus. The exhibition of photographs is titled “Born of This Volcano” and is on display through October 18, 2023.

The exhibit will feature albumen prints, which is a print made using albumen paper, and was popular for photographic printing between 1850 and 1900. To make this happen, thin paper is coated with a layer of egg-white (albumen) containing salt and sensitized with a silver nitrate solution, then printed using daylight under a negative.

“[Here at ULM VAPA], we exhibit work by a variety of fine artists from across the nation in an attempt to supplement the education of our students and provide them with a valuable networking opportunity,” said ULM art professor, Dr. Clifford Tresner.

The School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana Monroe aims to provide students with the highest level of arts education, research and educational opportunities to majors and minors. VAPA aims to offer curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities to students enrolled at ULM, as well as provide cultural activities, special events and performances for university, local and area communities.
