ULM Honors Program nationally recognized with eight award nominations

MONROE, LA – The University of Louisiana Monroe Honors Program was nominated for eight awards by Suitable, with winners being announced later this summer at Pathways 2025 in Philadelphia, PA. The nominations recognize the Honors FLIGHT program, an initiative that integrates co-curricular experiences with academic development and culminates in the awarding of micro-credentials to successful completers. Suitable is a software platform and app that assists universities in boosting student engagement outside the classroom. 

Dr. Joshua Stockley, director of the Honors Program, said, “These eight national award nominations affirm the impact and innovation of ULM’s Honors FLIGHT Program. Through our partnership with Suitable, we have created a transformative experience that blends academic excellence with real-world skill development. This recognition highlights the dedication of our students, faculty, and staff in fostering a culture of engagement, leadership, and success beyond the classroom.” 

The eight nominations are as follows: 

  • Best Branding - The Best Branding award is presented to those partners who have created a memorable and exciting branding campaign to engage students and impress stakeholders. 

  • Highest Engagement - This award recognizes programs that have achieved a high level of engagement among their students. These programs have a clear insight into what motivates students and have implemented a variety of strategies to encourage student participation and involvement.

  • Most Completed Activities - This award recognizes programs with the highest average activity completions per student. The students in these programs have demonstrated a commitment to expanding their skill set outside of the classroom, and they have taken advantage of the many opportunities available to them. 

  • Most Engaged Partner - This award recognizes partners who have attended and participated in the most Suitable webinars and events, as well as engaged with the Suitable Insider pathway.  

  • Suitable Spirit Award - The Suitable Spirit Award recognizes programs that embody the values of Suitable, including teamwork, creativity, excellence, diversity, integrity, persistence, and grit.  

  • Suitable Innovator Award - The Suitable Innovator Award recognizes partners who have used Suitable to create an innovative co-curricular learning program. These programs have demonstrated ingenuity and a commitment to student success. 

  • The Student Advocate Award - The Student Advocate Award recognizes partners who have harnessed the power of Suitable to make a lasting impact on their students. These advocates have gone above and beyond, designing and implementing activities and programs that address critical needs and empower students to thrive.  

  • Distinguished Program - The Distinguished Program award recognizes programs that have demonstrated excellence in using Suitable to best serve their student population while supporting their mission and vision.  

About the FLIGHT Program 

The FLIGHT Program (Forging Leaders, Inspiring Growth, and Harnessing Talent) connects students to campus and community activities through a point-based system, awarding digital badges that showcase competencies on resumes and professional profiles. Powered by Suitable, the program helps students track progress, engage in events, and build co-curricular transcripts, equipping them with practical and relational skills valued by employers, graduate schools, and competitive opportunities worldwide.
