MONROE, LA – Pogue Construction recently made a $6,000 contribution to the ULM Office of Career
& Student Development to support career development initiatives. The donation will
help assist with the Construction Management Fall 2025 Career Fair happening on September
25 at ULM.
“Pogue Construction is honored to support the Fall 2025 University of Louisiana Monroe
Construction Management Career Fair. Opportunities like this play a vital role in
bridging the gap between education and hands-on experience, helping students succeed
in the construction industry,” said Sam Adams, Executive Vice President of Pogue Construction
and alumnus of the ULM School of Construction Management.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome Pogue Construction as the first Warhawk Sponsor
for the ULM Office of Career Development. This sponsorship reflects a shared commitment
to student success, workforce development, and the future of the construction industry,”
said Kellye Blackburn, ULM’s Director of Employer Relations and Outreach.
Adams says that Pogue Construction has regularly hired numerous ULM Construction Management
students and graduates for both internships and full-time roles, and they continue
to be impressed with the high level of talent the program produces. “Supporting ULM’s
dedication to workforce development and investing in future construction leaders is
a privilege we take seriously. As a proud ULM graduate, I can personally attest to
the impact this university has had on my career. The foundation I built at ULM helped
open doors, shaped my work ethic, and set me on a path to leadership in the construction
industry,” added Adams.
“It’s especially meaningful to partner with an organization that not only believes
in our mission to prepare our students for career success, but also actively hires
our students and is home to several ULM alumni. We’re especially thankful to Shane
Williams, ULM School of Construction Management Class of 2004 and Vice President of
Business Development at Pogue Construction, and the entire Pogue team for their investment
in our students and their support of the continued growth of the ULM Office of Career
Development,” said Blackburn.
